Oh-oh, I’m in trouble. I still say “fireman” and “mailman.” As far as I know, we have no local female firemen, but our mailman is actually a femailman.
I’ve always thought “mailman” was redundant anyway. But I guess not in your case.
Actually if you really want to get to the full blown non-gender specific the correct term is postal worker and fire fighter.
Just thought you ought to know.

Ahhhh, Political Correctness run amuck. Now if they could just tackle actually getting the roads repaired in Atlanta that would be great!!!
