“Blessed Be Your Name”

Watch this news report on the funeral of Maria Chapman, the five-year-old daughter of Contemporary Christian singer and songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman. I have long been encouraged by the depth of Chapman’s lyrics and life. Watching this clip reinforced my confidence in the sincerity of the faith professed and proclaimed by Steven Curtis [...]

Chipper better than Mickey

It’s always interesting to me when a player goes from being considered a good or great player to being recognized as a living legend, one of the all-time greats.  Well, as Chipper Jones continues posting his .400 average and is quickly approaching 400 career home runs, that time has apparently now come for him.   [...]

I Guess I’m in a Signing Mood

Not only did I sign Ascol and Barber resolutions on church membership yesterday, today I have signed the “WE GET IT!” declaration on Christians and the environment.  Check out the website.  I think this declaration allows Christians to take a stand on the biblical teaching about the environment without buying into any political policy solutions.

Resolutions on Integrity in Church Membership

Today I signed both Tom Ascol’s and Bart Barber’s Resolutions on Integrity in Church Membership.  I look forward to voting for one of these resolutions at the upcoming meeting of the SBC in Indianapolis.  I don’t believe that I need to pick one over the other at this point.  That is the job of the [...]
